Birchbox - Grace Grits and Gardening

I hate to shop. There, I said it.

I am not one to blog about crafts or beauty products or promote an Oprah-like list of my favorite things. BUT, if you aren’t familiar with Birchbox, you are truly missing out on one of the best ways to sample high-end beauty and lifestyle products.

Birchbox is one of the few things I truly ever rave about.

For $10 a month, a charming Birchbox will arrive on your doorstep filled with items selected according to your individual profile (i.e. aging skin, blonde, redhead, etc.). Often the package includes full size items such as eyeliner or mineral powder, easily worth the $10 price of admission. Recently my package included a set of ear buds! There are power bars, coasters, hair twisty ties, and free downloadable iPod music, along with a variety of new products from designer companies.

Things you didn’t know you needed. Things you didn’t know existed.

I discovered my favorite mascara from Birchbox, as well as a wonderful new perfume.

Birchbox has free shipping incentives, review opportunities, bonus point programs for future full-size purchases and on-line beauty tips. You get the picture – I could go on and on.

The boxes themselves are so handy I’ve yet to throw one away—they are easily repurposed into storage containers or gift boxes for birthday gifts throughout the year. Inside, each item is beautifully wrapped in bright tissue paper with ribbon—I save this as well. Those of you who know me are not surprised…

Birchbox is available for women and men. Subscriptions can even be given as gifts. The products are first rate. To sign up go to www.Birchbox.com.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner.
